The Patronage scheme is a way of giving something back to the members in the form of Rosettes and, for Area Shows, money. HOW DO YOU APPLY? The Patronage Secretary has Application Forms but a letter will be sufficient provided all the necessary details are included. The information required is: The name and address of the person applying on behalf of the Club. A cheque for the Affiliation Fee (currently £3) made payable to the Foreign Bird Association or just FBA . Clubs must be affiliated to be considered for Patronage For Clubs applying for Open Show Patronage the most important details are the date of the Show and the name of the Judge. To be considered for Area or Full Patronage the Judge must be a member of the FBAPanel. Applications for Open Show Patronage must be sent to the Patronage Secretary by 31st March. WHAT HAPPENS THEN? The Patronage Allocation Meeting is held at the end of April or beginning of May (depending on Bank Holidays). There are four types of Open Show Patronage. The highest is the Area Club Show which is allocated 10 rosettes* and a cash prize for the Best Foreign. Money is sent out to the winners by the FBA on receipt of the Area Return Form which is checked to make sure that the winners are actually members of the FBA. Full Patronage consists of six rosettes*. Rosette Patronage has three rosettes. Any other Club holding an Open Show receives Support Patronage (rosette* for Best Foreign). AT THE SHOW FBA rosettes* should only be awarded to those who are FBA members. This should be indicated on their entry form. AFTER THE SHOW Returns must be filled in and returned to the Patronage Secretary. Don’t forget the name of the Club and the contact’s name and address! If you have any questions, please to contact the Patronage Secretary. * For 2009 all rosettes will be replaced with four-coloured prize cards
